Bengaluru Startup’s 10-Minute Food Delivery Promise Raises Concerns
Swish, a Bengaluru-based startup, promises to deliver fresh meals within just 10 minutes, aiming to overcome the lengthy wait times typical of food delivery services. Co-founder Ujjwal Sukheja launched Swish to address the slow delivery times often experienced in busy city areas.
Swish, a new entrant in Bengaluru’s food delivery market, claims it can bring you your meal in 10 minutes flat. The startup seeks to tackle the city’s notorious traffic and long wait times for online food orders.
Co-founder Ujjwal Sukheja shared his frustration on X, noting, “In HSR, you can get anything quickly—a dosa from a Darshini in minutes. But when it comes to online food delivery, the wait can be painfully long.”
He continued, “We noticed this issue is common among young people like us. So, for them (and us), we are creating Swish.”
Social Media Reactions:
Sukheja’s ambitious promise has elicited a range of responses online. While some users commend the initiative for addressing a significant issue, others express skepticism about its feasibility and potential impact.
One user questioned, “10-minute delivery is only possible if the food is pre-cooked. How does Swish differ from existing services like Zomato or Swiggy?”
Another raised concerns about logistics, asking, “What about the insurance and compensation for delivery agents? What’s the margin for error?”
A third user voiced worry over safety and food quality, stating, “10-minute delivery might mean getting stale or reheated food. Plus, it could endanger delivery workers who might have to drive recklessly to meet the time target.”
As Swish gears up to make its mark in Bengaluru, it faces both excitement and scrutiny as it seeks to revolutionize the food delivery experience.
