India’s richest business families—Ambani, Bajaj, and Birla—boast a combined net worth exceeding $460 billion, nearly equal to Singapore’s GDP, as reported in the 2024 Barclays-Hurun report.

India’s three wealthiest business families, Ambani, Bajaj, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, collectively possess assets worth over $460 billion, almost matching Singapore’s GDP. This data is highlighted in the 2024 Barclays Private Clients Hurun India Most Valuable Family Businesses report. Notably, the Adani family, valued at ₹15.45 lakh crore, is absent from the list due to the exclusion of first-generation families.

According to the report, the Ambani family’s net worth stands at ₹25.75 lakh crore, the Bajaj family at ₹7.13 lakh crore, and the Birla family at ₹5.39 lakh crore.

A separate ranking places the Adani family at the top, followed by the Poonawalla family, with a valuation of ₹2.37 lakh crore.

The report, which examined around 200 listed and unlisted companies, reveals that 75% of these businesses are publicly traded, with the remainder unlisted. Among unlisted companies, Haldiram Snacks, valued at ₹63,000 crore, emerges as the most valuable.

The top 10 wealthiest Indian families have a collective net worth of approximately ₹60.09 lakh crore, spanning diverse sectors such as energy, automobiles, auto parts, metals, mining, software, services, chemicals, and petrochemicals.

Social Media Reactions:
One user asked, “So, how much tax do they pay, and how many jobs do they create?”

Another user commented, “Just multiply the number of Singapores that fit into India, and you get the GDP of Singapore—this is BJP’s way of boosting achievements. But it would happen with or without them, due to inflation.”

A third user noted, “Look at the income inequality in India… Ambanis, Bajajs, and Birlas’ businesses are worth $460 billion, the same as Singapore’s GDP.”

A fourth user remarked, “Congrats, Modi Ji! These families are collectively worth ₹60,09,100 crore! Ambani, Bajaj, and Birla together hold $460 billion, equating to Singapore’s GDP.”
