Brihaspathi Technologies Launches COVIPRO: A Comprehensive Kiosk-Based Solution for Health and Safety

Hyderabad-based Brihaspathi Technologies has introduced COVIPRO, a state-of-the-art kiosk designed to enhance health and security measures. Deployed in the Telangana Assembly, COVIPRO integrates several functions into a single unit, including face recognition, real-time temperature monitoring, automatic hand sanitization, and UV disinfection.

Developed entirely in Hyderabad as part of the Make in India initiative, COVIPRO is produced at the Cherlapally facility, which has a daily output capacity of 400 units. The kiosk features an 18.5” LED monitor for displaying essential information or advertisements and operates on standard 230-volt AC power. It also includes a micro SD slot for additional storage and customizable operating systems.

How COVIPRO Works:

Upon approach, users are identified via an 8-megapixel camera for face recognition. A medical-grade temperature scanner records their body temperature, with any anomalies triggering an alert to the control room along with a photograph of the individual. If the temperature is normal, users are prompted to use the automatic hand sanitizer, which holds 5 liters of sanitizer and dispenses a mist through a 6mm nozzle. Following this, the UV disinfection chamber opens, allowing users to place personal items like laptops, mobiles, and wallets for a 15-second UV sanitization process. The system’s cloud-based platform supports visitor tracking and real-time alerts to the control room.

Mr. Rajashekar Papolu, Managing Director of Brihaspathi Technologies, emphasized, “The pandemic has drastically altered our public interactions. COVIPRO addresses the challenge of maintaining hygiene and security in high-traffic areas like metro stations, bus terminals, and offices. Priced at Rs. 45,000, COVIPRO will be available across India within 30 days, with a target of selling 10,000 units in the next 100 days.”
