Eka.Care, a promising health-tech startup, has successfully raised $4.5 million in its seed funding round. This fresh capital injection will support the company’s mission to innovate and enhance healthcare solutions.

The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of technology in healthcare, leading to a surge in e-pharmacy, online consultations, e-diagnostics, and homecare services. This digital transformation, coupled with AI integration, promises to enhance patient care, increase accessibility, reduce costs, and offer personalized healthcare services. In India, the health-tech sector is flourishing with around 3,000 startups working to bridge the gap between rural and urban healthcare. Notable players include PharmEasy, CureFit, Practo, and CallHealth. Recognizing the need for technology-driven solutions to connect service providers, seekers, and diagnostics, Vikalp Sahni and Deepak Tuli, former co-founders of Goibibo, launched Eka.Care in December 2020.

Eka.Care is a comprehensive platform designed to digitize and connect the healthcare ecosystem, including patients, doctors, and diagnostic labs. The platform offers features such as appointment scheduling, doctor-patient communication, AI-driven digital prescriptions, integrated payments, and advanced teleconsultation solutions. Available in 12 languages, Eka.Care allows families to create multiple health profiles, store essential health records, and share data with healthcare providers.

On July 19, 2021, Eka.Care raised $4.5 million (Rs. 33.7 crores) in seed funding. The round was led by early-stage investors 3one4Capital, Eximius Ventures, and Speciale Invest, with participation from prominent angel investors including Deep Kalra (founder of MakeMyTrip), Ashish Kashyap (founder of INDMoney), Rajesh Magow (co-founder of MakeMyTrip), Kunal Shah (founder of Cred), and many others.

Vikalp Sahni, founder and CEO of Eka.Care, commented, “Digital solutions are integral to our daily lives—entertainment, finance, travel, and social interactions. Unfortunately, healthcare digitization in India has not kept pace. Our goal is to transform healthcare delivery by providing digital tools for both providers and patients.” Deepak Tuli, co-founder and COO, added, “Healthcare delivery is evolving, and technology is crucial for adapting to these changes. Our solutions are designed to meet these needs, addressing issues like the lack of digital health records that lead to repeated tests and higher treatment costs.” Eka.Care plans to use the funds for product development, marketing, supporting doctors in establishing digital clinics, and expanding its team to strengthen its position in the healthcare sector.
