Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced plans to invest ₹25,000 crore in a new automobile plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. This investment will create 24,000 jobs and enable the production of 4 lakh vehicles annually.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and the Maharashtra government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the new plant. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that this significant investment reaffirms Maharashtra’s status as a prime investment destination.

Fadnavis remarked, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s investment underscores Maharashtra’s attractiveness for investors. It reinforces our state’s position as a favored investment hub.”

Headquartered in Bidadi, Karnataka, Toyota Kirloskar Motor is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group, dedicated to manufacturing and selling Toyota vehicles in India.

The new plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will be TKM’s first facility in Marathwada, focusing on both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles. The project is expected to have a substantial positive impact on the regional economy.

Toyota has primarily focused its investments in Karnataka, with plans for a third plant to commence production by 2026. This new facility will play a crucial role in manufacturing 4 lakh vehicles annually and is anticipated to stimulate economic growth in the region.
