Way2News, the leading vernacular news app in the Telugu States, has raised $16.75 million in its Series A funding round. This investment, led by WestBridge Capital and renowned venture capitalist Sashi Reddi, will drive the app’s expansion into Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Based in Hyderabad, Way2News plans to use the new funds to grow its presence in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The capital will be allocated to strengthening its editorial, sales, and marketing teams, as well as enhancing its AI-based technology to ensure the delivery of credible news with minimal human intervention.

Raju Vanapala, Founder & CEO of Way2News, commented, “In an era where finding reliable local news can be challenging, Way2News has successfully addressed this need by delivering credible news from smaller towns and villages. Our mobile-first, crowdsourced news platform, combined with advanced AI quality checks, is both revolutionary and sustainable.”
