WhistleDrive Makes Big Move into Urban Logistics with 5000+ ‘WhistleTruck’ Fleet and 20+ Clients

WhistleDrive is making a significant entry into the niche urban logistics market, unveiling a fleet of over 5,000 ‘WhistleTrucks’ and securing contracts with more than 20 prominent clients. This expansion marks a strategic shift for WhistleDrive, broadening its service portfolio from employee transportation to encompass comprehensive logistics solutions for corporates and enterprises.

Rakesh Munnanooru, Founder of WhistleDrive, commented, “The logistics landscape for enterprises has grown increasingly complex and competitive, particularly with the rise of e-commerce. There’s a pressing need for a reliable, tech-driven logistics partner to address the challenges posed by inconsistent and disorganized fleets. We are uniquely positioned to bridge this gap as a full-stack logistics solutions provider.”

In just six months since launching its logistics services, WhistleDrive has onboarded top-tier brands such as Amazon, Flipkart, Big Basket, Myntra, JSW, Grofers, and Delhivery, serving 11 cities across India. The company is concentrating on Mid Mile and Last Mile deliveries, both within cities and across state lines, and is expanding into Line Haul operations.

“This move into the logistics market is part of our new growth strategy, tapping into the booming e-commerce and delivery sectors. It also helps mitigate the impact of the pandemic on our employee transportation business,” Rakesh added. “Supply elasticity is crucial in logistics. In the past six months alone, we’ve added over 5,000 trucks to our platform.”

Previously, WhistleDrive specialized in technology-enabled employee transportation, managing fleets and providing software for corporate clients in four cities, with over 75 clients and 150,000 trips per month. Following a Series B funding round of ₹72 crore in September 2019 and Series A funding of ₹5 crore before the pandemic, the company is not seeking additional funds in the near term.

With the gradual return to office work post-lockdown, WhistleDrive anticipates a resurgence in demand for employee transportation. The company expects to reach pre-COVID levels of service by March 2021 and is actively recruiting experts in the logistics industry to support its expansion.
